Hannah: Hinsdale tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of the College of Engineering at the University of Washington, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering with a minor in Microbiology. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I was actively involved in research, focusing on cellular and molecular engineering applications.
My passion for tutoring began in high school, where I supported peers through the National Honor Society, specializing in writing and test preparation. In college, I continued this path as a teaching assistant for an introductory MATLAB course tailored to Bioengineering students and as the VP of community engagement for the Biomedical Engineering Society. These experiences have deepened my commitment to education and mentorship.
While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am especially passionate about STEM, biotechnology, and writing. I enjoy helping students prepare for exams, standardized tests, interviews, and career exploration. I've found that incorporating creative, individualized strategies not only makes learning more enjoyable, but also significantly boosts students' confidence and performanceespecially in the sciences and academic writing.
I'm a strong believer in the transformative power of education and strive to foster that same appreciation in my students. I'm also continually inspired by learners who seek out mentorship and growth beyond the classroom, as I believe education should be as personal and unique as each individual.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, painting (I can also occasionally be found as a vendor at local art markets), weightlifting, running, and taking the occasional backpacking trip through the Pacific Northwest.
