I am a 4th year Honour's English Major at the University of Guelph. I am incredibly passionate about English, I hope to become a writer in some capacity once I graduate with my Bachelor of Arts. English has been my favourite subject since I can remember, and I loved helping my friends with it growing up in Elementary and High School. Even now, my friends and roommates often still ask me for help with their English coursework in University.

I know some students struggle with English because they don't understand how their teachers explain it, so I like to break it down in easier to understand pieces. For example, if they're having trouble writing a paragraph I would first explain the different components to a paragraph, and then expand from there. I also believe making connections to a student's personal life, like asking them to write a story about their favourite movie or their family pet, gets them more passionate and helps them understand the subject better.

My mom is also an Elementary school teacher, and she's been teaching for over 20 years so she has instilled into me the importance of education and a love of teaching. Outside of academia, I love to write in my journal, read, and go to the movies with friends.
