As the oldest of a large number of siblings, it's always been one of my greatest honors to be a helping hand to those around me. Education has always been a large part of my life, stemming from my grandmother who believed that it would be the only way to grow outside of your circumstances. Two degrees and a cross country move later, it seems as though she was right! I started mentoring and tutoring students when I was a freshman in high school and continued on that path up until I graduated from grad school. I have a BBA (Bachelors of Business Administration) in Marketing from Howard University and a Masters of Marketing from Vanderbilt University, so I am a proud Bison & Commodore! While my degrees are in marketing and my academic history is strong in the sciences and humanities, I've put all of my tutoring focus into reading and writing for the youth. I was once a student impacted by COVID-19 and I saw first-hand, the impact it had on the literacy and comprehension rates across the country. I, myself, am a product of a low-resource community, therefore it's important to me to give back and ensure that the next generation is well-prepared to take on any and everything that comes their way. Reading and writing is just one opportunity to make a difference and I'm excited to do so as we look to empower our youth!
