I am a graduate from the University of Guelph, in Ontario Canada. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree, Majoring in Fine Art with a minor in Business Administration. Since graduation I have pursued an artistic life. At no point have I stopped learning in my life. I've taken many online art programs to keep me creative and current. Growth is a key element to personal fulfillment and something which I hope to instill in students.
My current work is focused primarily on mixed media collage. But, I have worked extensively in printmaking Medias of collagraph, woodcut, linocut and monotypes. I have created many mixed media works including recycled metals and found materials.
I began teaching privately from my studio 35 years ago., I've taught at numerous Public art centers teaching adults and children, summer art camp programs for children , and on site at various public schools. Teaching a variety of classes in drawing, creative expression, sculpture, painting and mixed media. Combining programs focused on exploring female empowerment, and self exploration.
My philosophy is to bring joy and fun into the teaching process, to self empower students to use their most creative self in their creations. I do not want mimicry, but to encourage an individualistic approach to art creation. Art that is personal, has the most potency and brings connection among people. Creativity in any form is healthy outlet and supports wellness.
