I have been in education since 2004. I received my undergraduate at Texas A&M University in biomedical science and then went on to get my Masters at University of Houston-Clear Lake in education. I was a classroom teacher for many years teaching 1st for 5 years and then a year of each of the following 2nd, PK3/PK4, 1st/2nd combo. I then became a dyslexia/intervention teacher teaching dyslexia to K-8th grade and intervention for the same grades for math, science and ELA/reading. From there I moved into a director position and had the privilege of teaching other teachers.
I am passionate about teaching reading so that students have a strong foundation. I love math and science and you will always find me with a book just in case I have a few minutes. I love to learn and love helping others discover that they can love to learn. My approach is not one size fits all. Let's chat, allow me to see what you know/struggle with and then we will dive in from there. I teach in a judgement free zone and aim to connect with each individual so that we can work together in a comfortable, safe setting where any question can be asked and academic conversations flow freely.

I love to read! I enjoy playing and watching all kinds of sports. Anything outside including kayaking, hiking, or just a simple walk is how I like to spend my free time.
