Certified Tutor
I am a first- year mechanical engineering student at the University of Guelph with a passion for helping students in their academics. Throughout high school, I worked at a help desk in the library and tutored students in high school math, physics, and chemistry. I enjoy teaching by breaking down complex topics and making them more approachable with the help of visuals, analogies and plenty of examples. I believe that learning can be engaging when students are in a comfortable and supporting environment, and I strive to create that environment by getting to know my students and building trust. I also share a bit about myself to make the learning experience feel more relatable. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing soccer, biking, working out, and working on personal engineering projects, which keeps me engaged and allows me to apply the problem solving skills I use in my studies.
I consider myself confident in tutoring high school math, physics, chemistry, and STEM subjects before high school. I particularly enjoy teaching math and physics because the logical thinking involved helps me connect these topics to real-world applications. I'm very patient and interactive with my students, and my primary focus is to make difficult concepts easier to grasp while ensuring students feel confident in their understanding.
