Benjamin: Northlake tutor
Certified Tutor
Hello my name is Benjamin Jepsky, I
studied at Boston University, received my Master of Architecture from SCI-Arc, and am an Architect at the firm Testaweiser. I have been teaching Architecture at a graduate level at the Southern California Institute of Architecture for over two years.
In my one-on-one tutoring experience, I've supported students in topics ranging from design development and discursive writing, to mastering software like Rhinoceros 3D or Cinema 4D. My approach is to support students in refining both their conceptual thinking and technical execution, helping them communicate ideas clearly and meet critique expectations. I also focus on helping them manage project timelines, which is crucial in architecture education.
I understand the pressure students face in architecture programs tight deadlines, demanding critiques, and long hours so I try to be both a technical guide and a creative sounding board. I truly enjoy watching students grow more confident in their ability to design and communicate their ideas effectively."
My primary experience is within undergraduate and graduate students, but I would like to work with anyone who is excited about architecture and is perhaps thinking of it for a future career.
