I am a retired elementary school teacher. I have a Masters Degree in Reading and Writing from Southern Methodist University. During the last 15 years teaching, I was a Dyslexia Specialist. I have been extensively trained in the Reading by Design from Region 4 and Neuhaus' Basic Language Skills. I taught intervention groups while in a school setting. I also have previously tutored students afterschool in person and online. A part of my teaching experience involved training my colleagues in the areas of reading and writing to assist them in becoming highly qualified educators. I am a lifelong learner. I love learning new things and view failure as a teacher. It is the things that we struggle with that makes us grow. Anyone can learn from their failures with a growth mindset.
