As a teacher with 22 years of experience, I'm excited to apply my skills and experiences to students with Varsity Tutors. I earned a Master's degree in Elementary Education and have taught students between Kindergarten and fourth grades. I have tutored at my school each year. During COVID I taught online for 13 months. I implement unique teaching strategies to excite students about learning. I'm passionate about teaching and helping students come to love learning. It is important for me to provide varied experiences where children can explore the world. I want students to be active learners and creative thinkers, not just learn the material for a test. In my role as a teacher, I have the responsibility of discovering and building upon the strengths of each child. Most importantly, I want children to love coming to school every day, committed to becoming life-long learners.

When I am not teaching, I coach a Dance Team working with 4th and 5th graders teaching dance, sportsmanship, leadership, and character as they perform for the school and community. I also spend my time gardening. I plant donated plants for school beautification and maintain pollinator gardens at the school and at my home. My three dogs keep me busy with providing them with exercise, training, and treats.
