I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

With over 20 years of teaching experience, I hold a Master's in Special Education, a certification as a Dyslexia Specialist, and Orton-Gillingham training from Southeastern University. I am also a Professionally Certified Educational Therapist (PCET) through National International Learning Development. My passion lies in working with students who find learning challenging, whether due to disinterest or various learning disabilities. My teaching philosophy is simple: if a student can't learn the way I teach, then I must teach the way they learn. Beyond helping students grasp material, I focus on teaching them how to learn, igniting curiosity and a love for lifelong learning. Personally, I have raised four amazing individuals, including one with multiple learning struggles and another on the autism spectrum, which has deepened my understanding of how to best support students.
