Hello. I am a graduate of Midwestern State University. I received my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Psychology with emphasis in Clinical Psychology. After graduation, I worked for three years at a state certified community behavioral health clinic as an Adult Outpatient Mental Health Counselor/Case Manager. I worked with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health needs. I provided psychotherapy (to individuals and families), assisted clients in developing treatment plans/goals and taught coping and problem-solving techniques.

I always had a strong desire to work with special needs children so I enrolled in an Alternative Teaching Certification Program and obtained my Special Education (SE) Certification. For 6 years, I served as the Special Ed teacher in an Alternative Education Program (3 years) and transitioned to a high school Accelerated Academy Program that provided computer based education and credit restoration designed to allow students the opportunity to work toward mastering grade level requirements at their own pace. The program also provided at-risk students with an opportunity to graduate with their peers and increased their chances for success in postsecondary endeavors. In my seventh year of teaching, I was approached with the opportunity to transition into another SE position, that of Education Diagnostician. My duties included assessing the educational, learning styles, and program needs of students through informal and formal evaluation diagnostic information. After 26 years in the educational field, I made the decision to retire to care for my father. I continue to have a desire to work with students and guide them to a successful school career. I'm excited for the opportunity to reach students across the country!
