I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

An educational future for me was so important, as I grew up in a family of eight children. Guess who had to help with homework? As I continued to ascend in my academics, I saw how students struggled in reading and writing, and it was so easy for me. So I decided that it was my goal in life to share my knowledge and love of the language arts with others, who, hopefully, might learn to love it also.
As I finished college , I was able to travel, to many other countries such as Egypt, London, Scotland, Greece, Italy, and many more. During those visits, I was granted permission to visit a school, and was able to read a story to the children. It reminded me that we are very fortunate, in the US, for the schools that we have, as some schools I visited were no more than desks sitting outside. During my visits to these other countries, I always wrote postcards to my students at home so they would know I was thinking of them, and to also remind them to read.

Hobbies

My interests and hobbies are reading, of course. I love to spend a day at the library checking out the new books, new book clubs I might be interested in joining, or other activities the library is hosting. Another passion of mine is traveling. I have been so fortunate to have traveled to so many places. My favorite place that I have visited was Egypt. I plan on traveling more, but it takes a lot of money to travel, so I have to save. One more exciting event I love to do in my life is cooking , and having people over to my house for the evening. We enjoy a good meal, laugh a lot, play cards, and just enjoy each other’s company. One more important way I love to spend my time, is with my family. I have eight brothers and sisters, and now I am blessed with six nephews and two nieces. In addition to that, I have become a great aunt, and just found out I’m becoming a great aunt again. So I love spending time with my family also. All of the ways I spend my time keep me busy, how did I ever teach?
