Certified Tutor
I'm passionate about education because all students can learn about anything if motivated. Einstein said it best: "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." Learning should not be judgmental; learning should be extracted from those willing to learn.
I've worked with students of all age levels, socioeconomic statuses, and learning abilities. I've also worked with exceptional children, academically and intellectually gifted students, students eager to learn, and students not eager to learn. I enjoy learning how best to teach each student I encounter.
I've earned degrees in education, psychology, and counseling. My highest degree is a master's degree, which I'm most proud of. I'm the first in my family to earn such a degree. I've also earned certificates in instructional design, and I'm working to become an e-learning/instructional designer.
My favorite subject is math, which I will most tutor. Math has many fascinating secrets and mysteries. The more I learn about math, the more I want to learn. I'm so passionate about math that I wrote a financial math curriculum! I'm also working on other math curriculums.
My teaching philosophy is, "If you are willing to learn, then I can teach you." You, the student, must have the mindset to learn the mindset that you can learn anything! I break down complex concepts into manageable pieces when I teach or tutor. I'll walk you through the math step-by-step and piece-by-piece until you "get it."
