I started my career as an English teacher in China, where I was honored with the "Best Teacher" award for my dedication to my students and my ability to make learning both effective and enjoyable. This first full-time teaching role taught me the importance of adapting to diverse learning styles and fostering a supportive environment that inspires students to excel.
I've also tutored math and biology during my undergraduate years, as well as Chinese online to students from various cultural backgrounds. These experiences have shaped me into a versatile educator who values intercultural communication and enjoys building meaningful connections with students. Some of my most rewarding moments have come from seeing my students gain confidence and achieve their goals.
Academically, I recently graduated from the Master of Forest Conservation program at the University of Toronto. This program sharpened my critical thinking, research, and communication skills, all of which enhance my ability to make complex topics accessible and engaging for students.
Outside of tutoring, I'm a passionate stand-up comedian. I earned third place in the North American Chinese Comedy Competition, showcasing my ability to connect with diverse audiences through humor and storytelling. Comedy is more than just a passionit's a skill I bring to my teaching to make lessons dynamic, interactive, and fun.
I believe education is about more than academic success; it's about building confidence, curiosity, and connections. Whether it's mastering a challenging subject, exploring new concepts, or learning a language, I'm dedicated to helping my students grow while ensuring they enjoy the process along the way.

Graduate Degree: University of Toronto - Master of Science, Forest Management
I love comedy; as both a performer and an audience member. I am into hiking which allows me to explore the nature to refresh myself. Participating in language exchange events has been an important routine of my life where I enjoy talking to people with diverse backgrounds from all walks of life. That's also why I am so keen in travelling. From Southeast Asia to Northern Africa, to Central America, I continuously expand my horizons through exploring places I've never been to. That said, I'm also an internal explorer–I'm a bookworm and you might not believe it, I still write letters, living in the 19th century. I look forward to enlarge my confort zone, finding more hobbies in life.
