I am passionate about helping students and am motivated for students to experience personal and academic growth. With over 10 years of experience as a high school and middle grades teacher, as well as experience tutoring with nationwide franchises and school-based programs, I have had the opportunity to work with students of all ages and abilities. I hold a degree in English with a focus in Secondary Education from Columbus State University, and I am currently pursuing a degree in Instructional Technology and Curriculum Design. In addition, I am certified in ESOL and have worked as a reading specialist, which has deepened my understanding of literacy and language development. I tutor a wide range of subjects, including reading, writing, and English, but my favorite to teach is English because I love to make reading, writing, and language learning relevant and fun for students. My teaching philosophy centers around creating an engaging, supportive, and personalized learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and make mistakes. I use a combination of hands-on practice, real-world examples, and open communication to help students succeed. Outside of academia, I am deeply interested in astronomy, modern psychology trends and writing, which allows me to bring creativity and empathy to my classroom and tutoring sessions.
