Courtney: Medford tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science and Industry with a minor in Business. I obtained my Masters Degree in Educational Human Resource Development from Texas A&M University. I am a certified teacher in special education for grades EC-12, general education for grades 4-8 and ESL. I have spent 11 years serving the special needs population (Autism, ADHD, ED, blind, deaf, Down Syndrome and general learning delays) through the life skills and resource classroom settings for grades K-8 and am currently pursuing a certification in administration. I am passionate about improving students reading comprehension and helping those that struggle in the general education classroom setting find their confidence in all subjects. I love to help students get organized and find strategies to prevent negative behaviors due to classroom frustration. I use a variety of strategies to help my students understand the concepts they are being taught and encourage them to learn in and out of academic settings. I believe communication and building relationships is key to building life long learners.
