While getting my MS in Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, San Diego I had the opportunity to serve as a TA (teaching assistant) in introductory chemistry lectures and biochemistry labs. My absolute favorite part of that experience were the office hour sessions, helping students work through concepts and example problems, meeting them where they are. It's my belief that the most satisfaction and best subject matter understanding is attained when students come to conclusions on their own. It's a tutor's job to make sure that core concepts are clearly understood and to gently guide students in their own problem solving process. Intellectually, educating the next generations is a worthy and meaningful endeavor - but from a personal point of view, watching a student light up as they *get* a new concept is its own reward.

My personal expertise is in chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, and molecular biology up to the graduate level. I'm also proficient and willing to tutor mathematics and physics up to the early collegiate level.
