As a dedicated educator with a rich background in special education, I am passionate about helping children unlock their potential. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Tennessee Technological University and a Master's in Education from Middle Tennessee State University. In addition, I have an AMS Montessori Teacher Certificate (Level I, ages 6-9) and a Teacher Leadership Certificate from James Madison University. My diverse qualifications, paired with my recognition as the 2018 Virginia Computer Science Educator of the Year, reflect my commitment to fostering both academic and personal growth in my students.

I take great pride in creating a supportive, individualized learning experience for every child. Whether your child is mastering early literacy skills or overcoming challenges in math, I tailor my approach to their unique strengths and needs. I have worked with students in various educational settingsurban, rural, and suburbangiving me a well-rounded perspective on different learning styles. My goal is always to break down complex concepts into simple, digestible steps, ensuring that students feel confident in their abilities. I love seeing that "light bulb" moment when a child grasps a new skill and recognizes their own progress.

While I value academic achievement, my main focus is on equipping students with essential critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will serve them throughout life. With a special interest in computer science, I incorporate concepts like decomposition, sequencing, and pattern recognition into my lessons, helping students become confident, creative thinkers. By making learning fun, engaging, and personalized, I aim to provide a virtual tutoring experience that supports not only academic success but also long-term personal growth.
