I have a BA in Social Sciences from Washington State University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Notre Dame of Maryland University. I am an experienced educator and have taught Grades 7-12 in public and private school settings, as well as at the undergraduate college level. I also have experience in Museum Education, writing and research, developing programs, teaching children, adults, classroom teachers and museum professionals, including interns. I am a published author.

Teaching is a challenging and rewarding career. My goal is to listen and evaluate student strengths and collaborate on their goals for improvement and advancement. I teach all genres of English Literature and writing, including journalism and business writing. I teach History (American, World, Ancient) and I also have experience in vocal Acapella music and music theory.

I love cross curricular instruction, when literature, history and writing are studied using the same story, poem, historical period or event. This produces deeper understanding and retention, and allows more time for critical thinking using multiple perspectives.
