I am a recent grad from Michigan State University. I hold a bachelor of arts in Media and Information with minors in Film Studies and Fiction Filmmaking.
I love film studies and creative writing, in which some of my most rewarding academic experiences have blossomed. Nothing gets my brain working more than a healthy debate and film analysis, and I want to provide a similar experience to students.
I have lots of professional experience in film editing using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, and DaVinci Resolve. I have previously done film work for CR News and Marketing, a local company in East Lansing, Michigan.
I feel very passionately about helping a student achieve their goal of understanding a topic. I firmly believe that education and learning should be fun, and should feel rewarding. In my own personal experience I find I understand a topic much more when I am encouraged to engage, rather than meet a specific score or test goal, and I would love to help encourage students to enjoy learning, rather than push them to reach a specific test score.
In my free time I love to sit down with a knitting project, go for long walks and listen to music, practice my cooking and baking skills, and read. I love to travel, and enjoy exploring new cities, learning about history, architecture, and new cuisines. I find being exposed to new cultures as a wonderful opportunity to learn and better myself.
