Greetings! I am a retired Chemistry Professor and have taught basic chemistry for close to 25 years. While I have taught a variety of courses over the years, my focus is General Chemistry and Chemical Thermodynamics. I also taught a course in Intermediate Algebra for science majors over the last 7 years and am interested in tutoring students who need help in this area. Most of my teaching has been in a classroom setting but I have taught courses online and have also tutored students online. My favorite aspect of teaching is working with students on a one-on-one basis. I strive to show students how to solve a problem using a step-by-step approach. I also do my best to provide a basic understanding of the topic under discussion. I enjoy working with students and do my best to provide explanations which allow the student to gain confidence in approaching and solving problems. It is very satisfying to me when a student "gets it". I am also patient and respectful when working with students.
