Certified Tutor

I graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in Science and Math Education & Middle Grades Mathematics. I also graduated with a minor in American Sign Language. While pursuing my bachelor's degree, I've performed 200+ hours of teaching and tutoring at the elementary and middle school level.
After graduating with my bachelor's degree, I taught freshman algebra 1 for 2 years at my local high school. During those 2 years, I tutored one-on-one with my students twice a week for the entire school year.
I have a deep passion for teaching mathematics. I have found that many students struggle with learning math and grow a great dislike for it, but it isn't because of the subject itself. I find that it's due to previous poor experiences relating to math. I like to change my students' outlook on math to where they think it's fun and enjoy it. I create strong lessons that directly relate to my students interests and hobbies. I try to turn every lesson into a game of some sorts so my students don't always feel that they are just doing schoolwork.
My favorite subjects to tutor are Elementary Math, Middle School Math, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra 1.
