My journey as a classroom teacher began at an early age back home in Jamaica. It was my experience as a student that paved the way for my teaching career. Mr. Gayle, my math teacher showed me that there is always more than one way for students to learn. He also showed me that education is the path to transformed lives no matter the circumstances.

I took these lessons with me as I pursued and established my teaching career. I attended Florida Atlantic University and graduated with a bachelor degree in elementary education 2013. Over the next 11 years, all my students are given the opportunity to express themselves openly and freely. In my class, I see myself as a facilitator to the student's learning. This includes students' positive constructive energy in the classroom, their willingness to embrace the learning process as they discovered new strategies, developed critical thinking skills, and achieved proficiency in solving mathematical problems.
