My interest in helping students succeed spans from elementary school students learning the basics to teaching US Air Force pilots to fly jets. Seeing a student "get it" is rewarding at every level. My education includes a BS in Computer Science, MA in Human Resource Development, and MA in Education with teacher certification. My primary tutoring interests include the middle school grades and adults seeking continuing education because I find the greatest inquisitiveness among these groups. My teaching philosophy is to meet learners where they are, which means leading them to understand, then challenging them to show that they do. I always told my Air Force student pilots not to be afraid to ask questions--it is better to admit you don't know something and learn from it, than to avoid embarrassment and still not know.
