I am passionate about teaching because I have a lifelong love of learning. As a student, I once dreaded schoolwork and reading - until I had a teacher who brought short stories to life with infectious enthusiasm. Suddenly, I was voluntarily reading ahead, captivated by her ability to draw out themes and stimulate discussion. This transformative experience rekindled my own love of literature and bolstered my communication skills.
Building on my Bachelor's in English Literature, I went on to earn a Master's in Education. One of my most rewarding roles was tutoring adult ESL students - busy parents and professionals balancing work, family, and English classes. I created a supportive, judgment-free environment where they could practice conversational skills, using short stories as springboards for discussions about our lives. Witnessing their growing confidence and fluency was incredibly gratifying.
As an educator, my goal is to empower students to become self-motivated, lifelong learners, just as my own inspirational teacher did for me. I would be honored to bring this passion to your program.
