I am a firm believer that each child can learn. It is just a matter of finding what works for each child. I like finding the way to connect with a child in order to connect on a personal level with a child, as well as the family, because it does take a community to raise a child. I have finished my 22nd year of teaching special needs students. I have worked with children from four year olds all the way to 21 year olds getting ready to join the workforce. I have taught a little of everything in that time, public schools teaching a class within a class, pull out settings, self-contained classrooms, private schools working with autistic and behavior disordered students and currently work in a charter school in my area where 75% of the population is Hispanic.
