I received my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky (1989) and my Masters in Elementary Education from Georgetown College in Kentucky (1999).

I taught at Brookside Elementary School in Nicholasville, Kentucky for 27 years, from 1990 until 2017 when I retired. During that time, I taught summer school for various primary and intermediate grades. After I retired in 2017, I returned to do some substitute teaching until Covid made its appearance.

I had many different duties/experiences while I taught. I was the school's yearbook sponsor and coordinator working with 5th graders to design the yearbook for about 15 years. I was the Science Fair Coordinator working mostly with 5th graders for about 10 years. I was on the Science Curriculum Development Committee for many years helping to select books, resources and design activities for our students. I attended National and State Conferences.

Some very special events in my life were when I fostered and then adopted an eleven year old child through the Kentucky Special Needs Adoption Program and then about nine years later I fostered and adopted a five month old child. Both enriched my life immensely and opened my eyes to many challenges. I have two biological children I am also very proud of.

I have recently begun doing a little editing of online books and writing reviews for these books. I love to read mysteries and crime dramas. I am trying my hand at bucket gardening and spend as much time as I can with family.
