I cannot remember when I was not interested in learning and helping others. I graduated from
Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri with a degree in Secondary Education English. Over the next several years, I raised my four kids, three of whom were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Through this experience, my view of education changed. I realized the
individual nature of learning and the importance of discovering how each of us learns best. I
also recognized that to define the needs of students, I needed more education. I returned to school and received my Master's in Special Education with certificates in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism from Ball State University. Since graduation, I have worked with many students addressing their educational challenges. I am passionate about helping students
discover how they learn best, how to use those skills to overcome academic challenges, and
most importantly, realize they can learn! In many sessions, learning may take more time to process, more time to practice, or having someone take the time to break down a tough concept into more simplified pieces. I emphasize the mastery of foundational skills, which are the building blocks to understanding more complex concepts. Therefore, I create sessions that encourage the development of the fundamental skills of reading, writing, grammar, and the four operations of math. Along with core subjects, I am also available to help students with other courses.

In my spare moments, I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, reading, kayaking, fishing, and running after our two dogs, who think they are the center of our world.
