I have over 11 years of classroom teaching experience in the area of ELA. I have worked with students of varied backgrounds mostly on the 7th to 12th grade level; although, I have worked with elementary aged students and adult learners as well. This year I assisted in preparing my students for the new SAT. As a result, the students at the school where I work achieved the highest scores on the SAT in 5 years. This is my first year at this school. Currently I am teaching a course called Junior Seminar. I also teach Creative Writing. I also taught an SAT Prep Course earlier in the year.
My goal is to work with students one on one or in small groups to give them close attention in order for them to meet and surpass their academic goals. I enjoy seeing students successful and love to contribute to their personal successes. I can help students with improving their writing skills, reading skills, and with standardized test preparation.

My personal hobbies are creative writing, painting, and playing with my pets. I am the mom of a 7th grader, so I often spend time helping him with his schoolwork. I am also a teacher, so I spend time outside of work preparing and learning other ways to assist students.
