I received my undergraduate degree from Kansas Wesleyan University and my graduate degree from Fort Hays State University, both in Kansas. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with a minor in secondary education. Since graduation, I worked 10 years teaching various math courses in both middle and high schools. I also held administration type positions at elementary, middle and high school. I got the chance to coach basketball and tennis during those years as well. At the end of May 2023 I chose to follow a new career path as a credit analyst which has allowed me the evening time to tutor subjects that I am most passionate about, math. In my experience helping struggling students find success and gain confidence in their math course is my favorite part. I love hearing from students, "Oh that's so easy, way easier to understand than before." I know not all students will have a career path rooted in math, but I do know that they will take their problem solving skills, attention to detail and perseverance learned in math forward in any area. In my spare time, I enjoy reading fiction books, exercising, cooking and being with my family.
