Certified Tutor

I am excited with the opportunity to work with you! I love seeing those who struggle with a concept begin to understand due to success I have had due to tutors. My favorite subject to tutor in is Math as this is where I struggled in Elementary school and tutoring has made it one of my favorite subjects. I hope helping students with understanding will decrease frustration and lead them to enjoy Math as I do now. However, I also have a real heart for English and its beauty. I believe that my age as a college student makes me relatable to a variety of ages and, therefore, allows me to work well with all. I hope I can make tutoring sessions, not only productive, but also enjoyable!

I am currently a Freshman at the University of Florida studying Animal Sciences. I am working towards a bachelor's degree. Once finished, I will apply to graduate school. Due to my major, I am most informed in Math and Science classes, but can help with a variety of other subjects as well.

I have experience with tutoring in a group setting in 6th grade classes. I also have experience tutoring high school student one-on-one in Math, up to Algebra 2. I follow the idea that students learn best when they follow the "I do, we do, you do" method. Therefore, I tend to conduct my tutoring sessions through explaining a concept or problem, walking through a problem with a student by having them do it and talking through the areas they get stuck, and then having them do a problem completely on their own.

In my free time I enjoy volunteering in animal hospitals, watching Disney movies, and curling up with a good book.
