My favourite part about teaching is seeing the lightbulb moment when the student understands the concepts. I have been able to combine my passion for teaching with my passion for health care in my position as a lecturer in the Lakehead University School of Nursing (Thunder Bay, ON, Canada). Since 2012, I have been part of nursing education as a clinical instructor, lab instructor, simulation instructor and clinical course lead ending in my current position. I currently teach Mental Health and have experience in communication, health assessment, anatomy, social determinants of health, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. As a educator, I strive to meet the student where there at and support them to meet their goals and objectives. In my personal life, I have two children and enjoy spending time outside enjoying nature. I love reading and crafting as a form of self care!
