A good teacher is the bridge between the student and the knowledge the student wants to have. I want to be the bridge that helps each student feel confident in the knowledge they have. As a King's University College graduate, I have a Bachelor's Degree in English literature with a minor in Psychology. While I was completing my degree, I was already translating my passion for writing into becoming a tutor at King's University College Writing Centre. I met with university students from different departments, be it Business, Sociology, or otherwise and guided them into honing their writing skills and finding their own voice. The students taught me about my passion for Sociology, English, and History. I took that a step further and began facilitating workshops on Law, Critical Race Theory, and Media Studies. I used my background as a Broadcast Radio graduate of Fanshawe College to lecture a Sociology of Law class at King's University College, a Masters of Social Work class at York University, and a group of young adults at Pathways in London, Ontario. I want to further transfer my skills to encouraging students who are speakers of other languages as well as those looking to prepare for standardized testing with my knowledge and enthusiastic cadence. I want the people whom I work with to come out feeling enthused about what they know and excited to tell those who will listen about it. That's how I carry myself with my personal passions in music, songwriting, and pop culture. I hope I can help every student find their passion and learn to be their own bridge from within.
