I am an English Composition (writing) and Literature Professor (PhD) who is passionate about helping students strengthen their writing and critical thinking skills. I have been teaching at the Higher Ed level for 7 years at prestigious universities (University of Arizona and Miami University) and hold a PhD in English (University of Arizona), an MA in English (East Carolina University), and a BA in Communication (Slippery Rock University).

I tutor in all subjects related to English, but mostly English Literature and Writing/Composition. While my favorite subject is literature, I also greatly enjoy working one-on-one with students to help improve their writing skills, which are essential for success in a broad range of careers. In addition, I have worked as an academic editor for the past 10 years, and thus have a strong command of English grammar and academic style(s), which inform my approach to tutoring and teaching. Finally, I am bilingual (English & Spanish) and know first-hand how difficult it can be to write in a second language. In Arizona, I frequently worked with English as a Second Language (ESL) students and have learned many tips and tricks to help improve second language learners' writing.
