I completed my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at SASTRA University, Tanjore, India, followed by a Master of Science degree in Robotics at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Engineering degree in System Design Engineering, specializing in Computer Vision, at the University of Waterloo.
During my childhood, I had a tutor for Mathematics, which ignited my passion for the subject and inspired me to pursue a career in a related field. I am driven by the desire to pay forward the support and encouragement I received from my tutor, aiming to inspire and empower students in the same way. Witnessing the transformative effect that personalized guidance and mentorship can have on a student's academic and personal growth fuels my dedication to tutoring.
My tutoring journey began during my formative years when I found myself excelling in Mathematics, consistently achieving the top ranks in my classes. In the absence of a tutor during my boarding school days, I naturally became the go-to resource for my peers seeking assistance with Mathematics. This early experience ignited my passion for helping others comprehend and appreciate the beauty of the subject.
Further fueling this passion, I volunteered with a team of university students to tutor underprivileged children in a nearby village, providing educational support to those who lacked access to formal tutoring services. Additionally, during my time as a graduate student at the Colorado School of Mines, I served as a Teaching Assistant for a Computer Vision course, guiding both undergraduate and graduate students through complex concepts.
My teaching philosophy revolves around fostering a supportive and interactive learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and explore concepts at their own pace. I believe in tailoring my tutoring style to accommodate individual learning preferences, whether it be through visual aids, hands-on exercises, or real-world applications. My ultimate goal is not only to help students grasp the material but also to instill in them a sense of confidence and curiosity that extends beyond the classroom.
While academia is my primary focus, I also have a keen interest in photography, hiking, and solving Rubik's Cubes in my leisure time. These pursuits not only provide a welcome break from academic rigours but also serve as outlets for creativity and exploration.
In summary, my diverse educational background, hands-on tutoring experience, and commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment make me a dedicated and effective tutor. I am excited about the opportunity to continue inspiring and empowering students on their educational journeys, particularly in the realms of Mathematics and Python.
