Why are you passionate about helping students? I enjoy seeing students have a "ah-ha" discovery moment! When a concept that they have been working hard to understand becomes clear, it's exciting to be a part of that process with the student.
I also remember the teachers that helped me when I was a student, and I was grateful to have teachers help me achieve my goals!

Describe your experience working with students. I began teaching in 2000, and left traditional education to work with museum education at historic sites for the past twenty years! I would develop field trips and lead tours of school groups. Finally, I have returned to full time teaching!

Where did you get your education? I am a graduate of Rockwood School District, Southwest Missouri State University, and Lindenwood University.

What degree(s) are you working toward? Bachelor's of Science in Social Studies Education, minor in Speech and Theater Education. Master's of Arts in Education/American Studies

What subjects do you tutor? Theater, Speech, Debate, American History, World History, Geography, US Government.

What is your favorite subject(s) to tutor, and why? American History and Theater!

How would you describe your teaching philosophy and your tutoring style? My educational philosophy is to guide students to be independent learners who have a lifelong desire to learn and use a growth mindset. Every student is capable of learning. Parents and teachers are a team working together for their child's education

What interests you outside of academia? My rescue dog, Snowball; theater, genealogy, crafts, improv.
