I have been teaching young children for 20 plus years. I have had my own classroom for five years educating children with disabilities. I believe that any child can learn with effective resources and the right motivation. Support from family is a big plus.

A child with an intellectual disability can be a challenge for themselves and those involved. That is why I feel that it is important to make learning fun and interactive. With the right information from my students, my aim is to do just that.

I try to create activities where my students are learning, but at the same time teaching them to take charge of their own learning abilities. This helps with problem solving and independence.

I took a course on specialized reading instruction in order to build my experience in the science to teaching reading. This course was geared toward teaching reading to young learners, and those that are struggling.
