Sarah: Rhode Island tutor
Certified Tutor
I am graduate of Old Dominion University where I initially received a M.S. in Psychology. After working for awhile in the mental health field, I returned to ODU to earn a M.S. in Education with a focus on teaching children with special needs. I have worked for over 20 years in education as a public school teacher, homeschool educator, and private tutor. I have a current teaching license in Virginia. While I tutor in various subjects, my favorite subjects to tutor are reading, history, and math. Reading and math are foundational subjects to academic success. It has been my experience that as students improve their math and reading skills, their ability to achieve success in other subjects becomes easier. Growing up in an area saturated with history, I have always loved helping students develop a love for history. I believe students are unique and have strengths that they bring to their own education. I strive to build on those strengths while helping them learn new strategies to help with them overcome their weaknesses.
