I'm a rising junior at the College of William and Mary, majoring in French and Environment and Sustainability. This upcoming academic year I will be studying abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France with the Institute for American Universities, American College of the Mediterranean, where I have been accepted to the French Honors Program. I have always believed that education is the key to success and a greater sense of fulfillment, and from a young age I have loved to help people learn. In high school I served as a teaching assistant for the French II class, as well as an instructive assistant for my dance school in lower-level ballet classes. This past year I worked as a Resident Assistant at my college, where I helped facilitate communication and community between my residents, and this past semester I graded French student exams for the 202 level. I have been a student of French for six years, including all throughout high school where I earned consecutive A's in my French courses and graduated with the highest level of biliteracy proficiency for my county. In college, I have taken many courses that have allowed me to advance my skills of reading, writing, and conversing in French in a wide variety of topics.
I tutor conversational, beginner, and intermediate French covering subjects of grammar and vocabulary. My tutoring approach is one of "practice how you play," and since both complete mastery and basic usage of a language involve visual and auditory skills, I use both visual aids such as charts, flashcards, and color-coding, as well as auditory practices such as reading " haute voix" (out-loud), conversation practice, repetition, and comprehension checks. With that said, the goal of every subject and session is your learning, and I am more than happy to adjust my teaching style to best fit your needs. Moreover, I believe that learning is a life-long, continuous adventure, and as a tutor my goal is not only to help you to learn the French language, but also to help you develop the skills to continue to do so for the rest of your life.
When I'm not tutoring, I love reading, writing, creating (a general descriptor for an endless and ever-expanding collection of hobbies), and dancing, particularly ballet. I love tutoring French because of the beauty of the language and the style with which it describes the world, and I hope to be able to share my passion with you as you continue or begin your journey with the French language.

In my free time I love to read, write, and find new creative hobbies (Pinterest and I are dear friends). Some of my current creative hobbies include sewing, painting, crochet, free-hand embroidery, drawing, and jewelry making. I also love to be active and enjoy running, Pilates, and dance, especially ballet. I'm also very passionate about the environment and spirituality, and enjoy meditation and trying to keep my house plants alive.
