I am Dr. Dutta. I am excited to help and support you throughout your learning experience. I am a highly experienced chemistry teacher with a Ph. D in Biophysical chemistry. I am extremely passionate about teaching and building relationship with the students. I am a Texas & Louisiana state certified secondary Science and chemistry teacher. I have 15 years of teaching experience in person and online in different high schools and community colleges, taught Pre AP, KAP and AP Chemistry in Houston ISD, Fort Bend ISD, Katy ISD and in an independent Charter School and taught General chemistry I, II, and lab classes in Houston community colleges and Delgado community college. I was recognized as a NSTA-DOW Fellow in 2011-2012, Fort Bend ISD Teacher of the year finalist in 2014-15, outstanding chemistry teacher (DRAKE Award) in 2018 by American Chemical Society, Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction in 2020 by The National Society of High School Scholars.
Prior to teaching high school and community colleges, I spent more than 10 years researching as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at different Universities and National laboratories (Clarkson University, NY; University of Tennessee, Oak Ridge National Lab, TN; and University of Houston, TX) in various disciplines of chemistry including analytical, physical, surface, materials chemistry, and nanotechnology. I have more than 30 publications in different National and International Scientific journals.
I am also an College Board AP Reader.
I have been tutoring high school and college students in person and online since 2007 (one on one and in groups).
