Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Boston University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English (literature). For many years, I have tutored elementary school children in reading (decoding and comprehension) and I'm Orton Gillingham trained. I recently worked for 1 year in a third grade classroom at a private school helping groups of children develop their reading skills and I've also worked with children one on one. I love to use my creativity and make learning fun. I've also tutored in public schools and public housing programs and individually in their homes. My full-time job is as a professional writer and editor who helps companies and organizations on a mission to improve health, education, and children's welfare outcomes. Tutoring children is the perfect supplement to my professional career. I want all my students to feel comfortable with me and with learning and asking questions. My goal is for my students to feel good about their learning, especially when they might start out frustrated.
