Certified Tutor

I am currently a Chemistry professor at the State University of New York. I earned my Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut. I have been teaching Chemistry for the past 10+ years at different levels. During this time, I gained experience in teaching students with different backgrounds, majors, and abilities. My objective as a teacher is to motivate my students to develop their own learning interests and reflective thinking to establish a learning-centered environment. I also participated as a tutor in Quantitative Learning Center, at the University of Connecticut and assisted students from various disciplines via peer tutoring and held monthly review sessions before the exams.

I think what makes me an outstanding tutor is the experience I have and I the ability I have in connecting with the students. I guide the students to solve the problems rather than giving them the solution. My objective is to motivate my students to develop their own learning interests and critical thinking- to establish a learning-centered environment in the classroom.
