Michelle
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Seattle University and Pacific Lutheran University where I earned my bachelors in English and Studio Art and my Masters in Education with teacher Certification.
For the past 20 years, I've dedicated my career to teaching students of all ages and backgrounds in many countries. During this time, I've witnessed firsthand the transformative power of education. I have had the honor of working with ESL students 6th through masters level, students with learning challenges, and those with exciting dreams. I'm committed to ensuring that every student I work with receives the support they need to succeed.
While I tutor in a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about the power of storytelling, mythology, world literature, and the history that makes a people.
It is my experience that curiosity drives retention of material and increases the quality of writing a student demonstrates. I believe that students learn best when they are engaged in meaningful and relevant inquiry that allow them to explore their interests and passions. I encourage students to ask questions and seek out answers that promote critical thinking and problem-solving.
I believe that every student has the potential to excel, and it is my goal to help each student find and reach their full potential. I am dedicated to creating a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel respected, valued, and encouraged to take risks and learn from their mistakes.
In conclusion, I am passionate about working with students, and I am committed to providing them with the tools and support they need to succeed. I look forward to working with you and your child to help them achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
