As a graduate of San Diego State University with a BA in English and a graduate of CSU Long Beach with an MA in English Literature, I enjoy the idea of embracing a subject where no answers are correct or incorrect, just proven or disproven with evidence. I enjoy teaching students, and I enjoy what I learn from their perspectives. Learning can be engaging and fun when students are encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas in an academic environment. My favorite response to students is, "What's your source?" and then having them find more sources to back up their answers becomes a fun exercise. I strongly believe in John Hatti's research that the key to student success relies upon both immediate feedback on the teacher's part and then reflection on the student's part.

Hobbies

I enjoy my adopted two puppies, reading, writing, skiing, biking, kayaking, and hiking. I am currently working on improving my fluency in Spanish. Traveling the world and learning about different cultures is at the top of my list of fun things to do.
