The growth mindset is a common practice in my classroom as I truly believe that each and every student can learn, grow, and succeed. To meet the academic and emotional needs of my students, I have made it my mission to be innovative in my instructional and assessment practices with project - based learning, discourse, differentiated lessons, evidence based argument writing, and structured student - design lab investigations. Additionally, teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic makes meeting both academic and emotional needs more crucial than ever. Thus, the collaboration between colleagues or students and myself is key to establishing and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment during a very emotional time for all. Therefore, I actively participate in professional development utilizing differentiated strategies and techniques to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of my students as well as their learning potential. Previous teaching experience, my solo travels, and graduate study abroad programs have taught much about other cultures and the significance of including other cultures into my classroom, embracing our diversity and differences to become a cohesive, fortified learning community and preparing future generations to make a better world.
