Hello!

My name is Ms.Chris and I am excited about being partnered with you in this courageous journey that lies ahead of us!

I find teaching is one of the highest of callings! And, in meeting my young scholars, it is my objective to meet each child right where they are at in their learning and to equip them with the tools and knowledge to go as far as their young minds may take them! My passion is to help students to see the true, powerful potential that lies within them.

A little about me, I received my Bachelor's degree at Trinity Baptist College in 2004. All through college, I tutored elementary students. From there, I graduated and taught in the Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville Florida from 2004-2008. I was able to provide intervention strategies for my struggling students during this period and celebrated many successes!

In 2008 I had to resign from my teaching career because of a serious illness that kept me out of my classroom and away from my students for far too many days at a time. Eventually, that illness took both my feet, legs, and knees. I am now a wheelchair-bound bilateral above-the-knee amputee.

But, remember, even when things look difficult, never give up! My Spirit is very strong! I don't let challenges in my life hold me back nor should you! I have worked hard on learning how to manage my health and limitations. Now, I am ready and prepared to return to my love of teaching.!

Varsity Tutors was an excellent fit for my unique situation. Know that I have a heart and genuine love for helping guide young learners, and I feel privileged just to be considered for the position.
