I received my Secondary Math Education undergraduate degree at Indiana University, with an emphasis in Psychology. I completed my Masters in Education at Ball State University. I have been a math teacher for 30 years. I have successfully taught every math subject at the secondary level, from sixth grade math to Advanced Placement Calculus. I enjoy math, but more importantly, I am passionate about helping students succeed.

As a classroom teacher, my students spend a lot of time leaning into challenging situations. In fact, my classroom motto is "We can do hard things". If we can allow ourselves to make mistakes, we can learn so much more and really enjoy math. It is also important to realize that there is always more than one way to solve math problems, and I am driven to help you learn concepts the way that is most understandable for you.

I have enjoyed the opportunity to make a difference in students' lives. While teaching in Fort Morgan, Colorado, I was named "Best High School Teacher in Morgan County". A few years ago, I was awarded the "212 Degree Teacher Award" at Delta Middle School in Muncie, Indiana. A few of the comments I received from students for this award were "He has given me the greatest experience and he is the definition of education", and "He made math fun and he's very positive. He always encourages us to do our best and be ourselves". I hope to make a difference in your school work as an online tutor.
