Certified Tutor
I am currently in my last semester at Brock University in the (BA honors) Child and Youth Studies program and have minors in psychology and sociology. I have a growing passion working with children and youth of all backgrounds, needs, wants and exceptions.
I have a great deal of experience working with children and youth, including volunteering as a tutor with Brock University Learning Labs program. This experience allowed me to build strong skills needed to tutor children and youth, such as strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and patience. This experience allowed me to have the opportunity to work one-on-one with students ranging from grade one to twelve in the subjects of Math and English.
As well, I have volunteered as a student classroom assistant with the DSBN Alternative Pathway Center program for several months. In this volunteer experience, I worked with high school aged students one-on-one to help them with their school work. This included assisting students to catch up to their school work, teach concepts they do not understand and provided extra worksheets to practice at home.
I was also a volunteer camp counsellor for a March break camp. I worked with children ages 5 - 12 years old in a fun and energetic setting where I was able to organize and lead engaging group activities. The most important part in my experience with being a camp counsellor was being able to model positive behavior to these children and reinforce positive attitudes.
I tutor a wide range of high school and elementary school subjects with a high confidence level. I am most passionate about teaching English, Math, and the Social Sciences, including psychology and sociology. I believe it is important to work with students based on their individual needs. My methods of tutoring are person-centered, meaning I understand that individuals have different needs and ways of learning and understanding. My goal as a tutor is to work with students based on their individual needs to aid them in their work - helping with concepts, applying concepts to practical questions and much more - so that the student is able to achieve their greatest potential.

I am very passionate about mental health awareness and spend a lot of my time advocating for mental health. This passion led me to volunteer for Niagara Region Distress Call Centre, where I provide mental health support and resources to those in need.
