I am a teacher and a teacher of teachers. My heart calls me to serve kids. I have an M.Ed. from The Ohio State University specializing in elementary literacy, and a PhD from the University of Denver in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught in Denver Public Schools for 14 years and at university for 7 years. My favorite ways to teach are through relationships and connections. I like to teach literacy, but love to explore mathematics and science as well. I enjoy finding ways to reach and teach students who need a different way of seeing things.
One of my favorite things about teaching is learning from students: who they are, the experiences they bring, the perspectives they possess, be they 4 years old or 14.

My interests are trail running with my two dogs, riding my motorcycle, lap swimming, and learning to do subtractive art. I also value my volunteer position working at a farm animal sanctuary. I have a strong interest in animal rights.
