I am a senior computer science undergraduate student at the University of Washington Tacoma campus. While studying there, I had plenty of opportunities to help fellow students either prepare for upcoming exams or even helping them memorize specific concepts or code that we learn in class. I have always had a passion for helping people around me, whether it be other CS students or my younger brother when he is struggling with algebra, however computer science is the subject I am most passionate about in terms of tutoring. My teaching philosophy is that I want to get to know students by asking them questions to see what they know already, and what they are having a hard time learning and help them get a better understanding of certain material. I believe that by providing them with some detailed explanations as well some examples for them to do with some guidance, it will make it easier for students to retain the information better since they get to practice using what they learn.
